Another Birthday Boy!

Happy Birthday to Kojo! Last week, we had the joy of celebrating this young man who was our first Etwene student and has proudly declared himself "the president" of our students. Kojo embraces his role with enthusiasm, as he genuinely aspires to be a role model and leader among the boys. Over the past year and a half, we have witnessed his growth in confidence and faith.

Kojo is currently undertaking clinicals in his nursing program and has had some remarkable learning experiences. Last week, he helped deliver four babies in one day (including a set of twins), and it was heartwarming to see his excitement and joy at witnessing the miracle of childbirth. This incredibly compassionate young man has also participated in the hospital ministry through their church, offering comfort to those who are suffering and isolated in the hospital. Hospitals in Ghana differ from those in the US; most people only visit them when absolutely necessary. It's uncommon to have a private or semi-private room, as most are large wards with multiple beds. Many hospitals there do not provide food and may even require patients to bring some medical supplies themselves. The environment can be overwhelming, and patients are often expected to follow medical staff instructions without much explanation or education about their options. It is truly a special calling to minister and serve in these places where people are in pain and often alone and frightened about what is happening. Kojo has a kind heart with a deep desire to help others, and it will be wonderful to see how the Lord uses these gifts as he continues on this journey.

Please pray for Kojo as he progresses in his education and training, so he can understand things well and communicate them to patients in ways they can comprehend and feel valued. Pray for Kojo to have the courage to share Jesus, the true Hope, and be a source of Light and Life to those he meets in his classes and those he assists.
